A web app for LIFX
There's no official LIFX web app. Search for one and you land on LIFX's own pages: cloud.lifx.com signs you in and manages your account, and app.lifx.com is a download page for the phone app. Neither controls lights. Remote Lighting is the control surface those pages are missing: a browser-based panel for LIFX you can actually operate from a tab.
It runs entirely in the browser, connects to your LIFX account through the official cloud API, and gives you colours, white temperature, scenes and effects in a layout built for a mouse and keyboard rather than a thumb. Pin it in a tab and it stays out of your way until you need it. Your LIFX groups, locations and scenes show up automatically, there's a dark mode that can switch itself on at night, and the whole panel can be driven from the keyboard if you prefer.
Your phone app keeps working alongside it; both talk to the same LIFX account.

FAQ
Is there an official LIFX web app?
No. cloud.lifx.com handles account sign-in and API tokens, and app.lifx.com is a download page for the phone app; neither controls lights. LIFX said a web app was coming when it dropped its Windows app in 2017, and it never shipped. Remote Lighting is that missing web app, built independently.
How is this different from the LIFX phone app?
Remote Lighting is built for a computer: a wider layout, keyboard control, an always-open tab, and nothing to install. It controls the same lights on the same account, so use both.
Which browsers does it work in?
Any modern browser on any operating system: Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge, on Mac, Windows, Linux or ChromeOS.
What does it connect to?
The LIFX cloud API, using a personal access token you generate and can revoke. Your bulbs need to be online, the same requirement the phone app has when you're away from home.
Is it affiliated with LIFX?
No. Remote Lighting is an independent control panel for LIFX, not affiliated with LIFX.
Remote Lighting is an independent control panel for LIFX and is not affiliated with LIFX.
